Paula Garber is the owner of LIFELINE Cat Behavior Solutions, LLC, in Westchester County, New York. Her love of animals was fostered from an early age as the daughter of a small-animal veterinarian (her father) and a champion show dog breeder and bull terrier rescuer (her mother). She grew up with a “zoo” of animals but has always had a passion for and special bond with cats.

Over the years, Paula has been many things—teacher, writer, book editor, project developer—but her love of cats ultimately steered her toward a career in cat behavior. In 2006, she became a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) volunteer and advocate for community cats, and also began caring for several feral cat colonies. These experiences sparked a special interest in cat behavior and led to her mission to prevent cats from being abandoned, relinquished to shelters, or euthanized because of behavior problems.

LIFELINE Cat Behavior Solutions brings together in one place Paula’s personal and professional skills, her love of cats, and her mission to keep the bond between cat and guardian strong and healthy for the benefit of each. This is her passion—a passion she will share with you.

Paula is the chair of the Pet Professional Guild’s (PPG) Feline Committee, serves on the PPG’s Steering Committee, and is a supporting member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC). She also serves on the Cat Protection Council of Westchester and hosts an annual volunteer event to build winter shelters for feral cats in her community. She resides in Ossining, New York, with her husband, Bruce, and five rescued cats.
